Come On In!

Welcome to Mrs. Kidd's classroom!
There are so many exciting things to learn, stories to hear, songs to sing, and dances to dance in Circle Time! Students vote, graph, count, role-play, play instruments, laugh, pray, and have some very important together time during these moments. These times are very engaging, and inspire the students to explore the other areas of the classroom throughout the day. Join us below for a classroom tour!

Places to Play & Learn in Mrs. Kidd's Room

Cassidy preschool classrooms are designed to be irresistible to children! There are many engaging learning activities provided, and children have opportunities to choose and be inspired. Some examples of what you will find in Mrs. Kidd's room are shown here! Come take a tour of...
The Art Center! The sky is the limit when it comes to what Cassidy preschoolers are able to create. As you can see, there are a variety of child-friendly materials available to the children. Cassidy Preschool students are always given the freedom to create. Guidance and inspiration are always readily available!

The Housekeeping Center! This little mini-household is just right for pretending all sorts of things! Lots of little family meals, cooking, cleaning, baby rocking, and role play happen in this area of the room. Pretending is a very important part of being a preschooler!
The Building Center! Creating and pretending come together with some beginning architecture and engineering skills in this area of the room. Many building materials are provided for the children that are just right for preschool hands and inspired minds. The other side of this center (which is not pictured) also includes larger blocks and building bricks!

The Puppet Theatre! If you have never seen a puppet show by Cassidy preschoolers, you have missed something very special. The children love these inviting puppets and perfectly sized theatre just for their self-created puppet shows.
The Reading Corner! This area is soft and quiet, with many wonderful books. The books that are available to the children during different thematic units encourage interest and pre-reading skills. Cassidy preschoolers have often been observed "reading" books to one another!
This little box is designed to be welcoming, and inviting for the children. Sometimes a child may feel just a little over-stimulated, or need just a little quiet time. Cassidy preschoolers CHOOSE to go to this area on their own, if they need a little space. They are never "told" to go there. This is NOT to be mistaken for a "time-out" area! Having a little area like this in a preschool classroom can help children be more aware of their feelings and can help them avoid meltdowns. Sometimes they decide to just go in there for fun (remember playing in an old refrigerator box as a child?!)
The walls of Mrs. Kidd's classroom have so much to say! You can see work, activities, and pictures that are important to the children. Students can see pictures of their families, charts and graphs they talked about at circle time, along with letters, numbers, and words that become more and more meaningful to them each day as they grow. Come and see for yourself! We would love to have you come for a visit.
